In this project, surface modifications of ceramic and vitreous particles will be carried out to change their acid-base functionality. The objective is to be able to change the behavior of these particles in different media (water, alcohol, acetone, etc.) causing different mobility in they. Surface modifications will be carried out by initially characterizing what type of surface the particles present, and then modifying their surfaces with coupling agents that possess acid or basic groups with increasing force of interaction. It will also be analyzed the distribution of surface active centers of these particles for determining the reaction conditions needed to cover in greater or lesser extent each type of surface active center
